Wrist and HandsCarpal Tunnel Syndrome, a relatively common cause of hand weakness, numbness, and/or pain frequently requires surgery for relief. The problem results from encroachment on a nerve as it goes through a tunnel in the wrist. Methods used in Kinesiology examine the reason for the nerve encroachment and correct it. Treatment often eliminates the need for surgery altogether. During every day activities, the small bones of the hand and wrist can come out of position, which causes pain and weakness. Other common causes of pain in the hand and wrist include elbow and shoulder problems or the neck is not properly functioning. Treatment consists of manipulation of misaligned bones to restore and correct muscle weakness in the hand and wrist. << Back to Health Concerns |
